In 2010 we are encouraging EVERY runner at EVERY level and distance to help us raise money to buy a guide dog for the blind.

Our target this year is 15,000 Euros. Every centime helps! - At the marathon village when you collect your vest number give in your charity form and all the monery you have raised.
The Paul Corteville Centre for The Blind
In France too few blind people benefit from a guide dog.
The Priority for ‘The Paul Corteville Centre’ near Lille is to satisfy this need. In its 56 years of existence the association has given blind people more than 13,000 trained guide dogs thanks to the publics’ generosity.

Guide dogs are always given free of charge.
the Paul Corteville Centre takes care of all expenses during the dogs’ training.

It costs about
15,000 Euros
to train up a guide dog from puppy to fully trained dog.
This sum includes :
- Buying the puppy and training it ;
- The specialist trainer’s salary ;
- Lodging and training for the blind person ;
- Food for the dog ;
- Veterinary bills ;
- Insurance ;
- All specialist equipment, collars, leads the dog needs
