is an event unique in France associating four races in the beautiful Somme countryside,
from 5 kilometres to a full marathon, plus in 2008 the participation of Hand
Bike (a branch of handisport)
We encourage athletes of all levels to participate, there are cash prizes for
the top athletes, but for runners like myself taking part is everything!
Running for a good cause, all runners are encouraged to help us to
raise money for charity, for more information see our charity pages.
Commemorative, the full and half marathon will take participants over
the hallowed ground of the WWI battlefields ,going by sites where soldiers
marched and fought in such difficult conditions between 1914 and 1918running
past the Lochnagar Crater, the Thiepval Monument and the Newfoundland
Memorial Park, all in a bid to raise money for Charity.
In Our Marathon village you and your family can relax after the race.
There will be: lunch or sandwiches and refreshments tents: dance shows,
music, bouncy castle and even a crèche for your little children.
So we hope to see you here in Albert in 2008 for the Fourth Poppy marathon.

Good running!
